Kareena-+-1WebII

Kareena Kapoor is a name that needs no introduction. She has been in Bollywood ever since her debut with Refugee against Abhishek Bachchan. Although she has had some share of failures, her name is an asset for any producer and sells like hot cakes, as she has actually given success to projects which critically challenged her and she worked against her image of being a mere “oomph” girl and a sex symbol.

Married to actor Saif Ali Khan, with whom she has a son, Kareena’s off-screen life is always in the public domain in India. The Twitterati just love her and talking about her and her daily antics. If her success is her plus, so is her outspokenness. Clearly visible whenever interviewed, she hardly thinks before she speaks and sometimes, she delivers such a “plain speak” statement, it actually defies the boundaries of being what she actually assays to convey.

Her latest straight talk answer – was talk of the Bollywood world last week – when after being pictured in the bikini while enjoying in the pool with her family and husband, people trolled her and Saif for “allowing” her to wear bikini.

The critics were furious that a wife and a mother (she has a son Taimur with Saif Ali Khan) had exposed herself in public – by being photographed in a pool, when she was with her husband, sister-in-law Soha Ali Khan and her husband Kunal Khemu. For the critics, the problem was she was wearing a bikini.

Appearing in an episode of actor and filmmaker Arbaaz Khan’s new chat show Pinch, Kareena was shown some of the most bizarre and cruel comments trolls had left for her on social media.

Some members of the social media police advised Kareena to behave more modestly now that she is a mother. Some others attempted shaming her for not carrying her son Taimur in her arms enough, meaning she is avoiding to ‘cloud’ her looks.

Kareena retorted: “I think these comments don’t say anything about me. They speak about what those kind of people are. The way they are trying to say that because you’re a mother then that’s it, there is no life and you’re not supposed to do anything. You can’t got to the gym, you can’t go out, you can’t have friends who are younger than a certain age. It just goes to show the regressive mindset of people,” she said.

Then, Arbaaz took her straight to a troll that shamed Saif Ali Khan more than Kareena for allowing his wife to wear bikinis. It read:

“Go to hell Saif Ali Khan, you not a shame to let your f**king wife wearing bikini,” the comment read.

Kareena quickly responded, clearly without much forethought and said:   “Who is Saif to stop me from wearing a bikini anyway? Because I don’t think my relationship is as such that Saif would ever tell me why are you wearing a bikini or why are you doing such things or what? I don’t think so at all. I think we share a very responsible relationship. He trusts me and when I am wearing a bikini then obviously there’s a reason I am wearing it: I am taking a dip,” she said.

Rather than saying the last bit which was the most appropriate bit to say that she was taking a dip, what on earth could else she wear, Kareena went on to narrate and explain her wedding MoU and praising her husband for agreeing to it.

Hope Twitterati do not take Saif to task on the equation he accepted in return for having Kareena as his Begum (wife)!

Amen!
