Melbourne, October 6: Honeybell Waterwear, a boutique sun protection clothing label for women, is excited to announce their launch, ready to make a splash this summer.
Honeybell Waterwear will be launching online showcasing their fashionable sun protection clothing for women, priced from $95 and offered in sizes AU8 to AU18.
It would be hard to find an Australian that does not know the Slip! Slop! Slap! message.
A key component of this message is “slip on clothing”. However, not all clothing is created equal. And this point is getting lost of women who are unknowingly exposing themselves to harmful UV rays every Summer.
A recent survey of 100 Australian women, conducted by Honeybell Waterwear, revealed:
- 91% of women do “slip on clothing” when at the pool or beach.
- 55% of women who do cover up are primarily doing so to be sun smart.
- 84% did not know that the average white cotton t-shirt only has a UPF 5.
The clear majority of women are covering up, but a lack of knowledge surrounding how best to cover up is putting women at risk of sun exposure in Summer.
Recognising that sun protective clothing is only helpful if you wear it, Honeybell Waterwear has designed a fashionable alternative to the rash vest, typically only popular with children and surfers.
According to the Cancer Council, 2 in 3 Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer and 95-99% of skin cancers result from sun exposure in Summer.
But the answer is not as simple as telling women to wear a rash vest. Traditional rash vests are unflattering and not fashionable – so this message has not been resonating with women who are body or fashion conscious.
All Honeybell Waterwear garments are made in a breathable fabric that is certified as providing UPF 50+ protection, the highest possible rating available.
Honeybell Waterwear is an Australian boutique sun protection clothing label for women, founded by Annaliese Allen a Melbourne mum, sun lover and corporate accountant turned entrepreneur.
