September 28, 2018: The Victorian Festival of Diwali has showcased the best of Indian culture and has always aimed for bringing something new to the festival every year.

Diwali@Fed Square’s SING 4 DIWALI comp is now open and running on our face book, T n C are also out on the FB. Competition will strictly run from Sat 1 September 2018 to Sun 23 Sept 2018. (See inset pic).

To participate, one needs to record a 90 seconds singing video with a message about Diwali. That video should be WhatsApp-ed to 0409 973 563.

This year, another competition – Light 4 Diwali- is being introduced from October – to decorate not only businesses but also homes – in traditional Indian Diwali colors. Winners will win amazing prizes.

Explaining this Light 4 Diwali, Arun Sharma, Celebrate India Inc. chair told BT:

“By LIGHT 4 DIWALI we are asking all Victorian Indians to illuminate their homes and Business in traditional Indian way with lights and rangoli designs etc and win some amazing prizes. We believe this is another way to share our culture with the wider communities and create an atmosphere here of India like Diwali. Top entries will be shown on the big screen.”

This year’s event is being done to help raise awareness about Cancer and thus this Diwali is going to be PINK DIWALI.

“This is for our Charity partner, Breast Cancer Foundation. We want to raise awareness about this cancer in our community and funds for the research purpose to beat this deadly disease. We want to invite the community to join by wearing something pink on the day and donate a gold coin or more for the cause”, Mr Sharma continued.

Just for the readers to know, all donations of $2 and more are tax deductible.

On Saturday November 3, one can imagine the entire Fed Square’s decorations, lights in Pink. All artists will be wearing Pink. Celebrate India is requesting the audience to come wearing pink or pink shades to support such cause and celebrate Diwali.
